The technique offers tremendous advantages over traditional metal braces.

Unlike the traditional braces people must often wear for two to four years, this procedure straightens teeth in an average of just six months and uses low forces to gently move teeth more comfortably.

The Six Month Smiles System uses specialised clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires, making them virtually invisible.

The procedure also requires fewer dentist visits than treatment with traditional treatments. It works faster than conventional braces by focusing on the teeth you actually see when you smile.

What will happen at the consultation?

We will examine your teeth and if necessary, take X-rays to find out whether you are a suitable candidate. We’ll talk you through the process and give you an indication of the costs and the likely timescale.

What will happen next?

We’ll take further X-rays if necessary and impressions of your teeth, which will be sent to America so that clear brackets and special wires to match your own tooth colour can be created just for you. Once they are fitted, you will come to see us every 4-5 weeks for around 15 minutes each time to have the wires adjusted.

How long will it take?

Treatment times vary depending on the individual but most are completed within 4 to 7 months. You will need to take very good care of your dental hygiene to keep your gums healthy during treatment.

What happens when the braces come off?

Teeth have a natural tendency to drift back to their original position, so to prevent that we’ll fit you with retainers.
