Tooth whitening
Many people want whiter teeth, as it makes us feel younger, healthier and full of vitality.
Tooth whitening is a well-established procedure in cosmetic dentistry. Hydrogen peroxide has been safely used for many years in the treatment of gums and other soft tissue.
The whitening process is effective on most discoloured teeth. Darker stains, such as those caused by antibiotics, are more difficult to whiten. The degree of whiteness will vary from patient to patient, depending on the structure of the teeth.
We brighten teeth using different techniques including Enlighten Extreme Whitening and the latest Zoom! Chairside Whitening system. We treat patients throughout Scotland from our practice in Glasgow city centre.
Enlighten Extreme Whitening and Zoom! Chairside Whitening takes about an hour. A professional home care kit is usually provided as a top-up.
Professional home whitening kit
All the tooth whitening may be done using a professional home whitening kit. This normally takes 2-4 weeks of either night time wear (sleeping with the tray over night) or day wear (a half hour in the morning and a half hour in the evening).
